James Cameron Recounts DiCaprio Casting in ‘Titanic’

Leonardo DiCaprio will forever be Jack Dawson. And Jack Dawson will forever be Leonardo DiCaprio. Facts are always facts. And that’s right.

However, James Cameron recently revealed that DiCaprio’s newfound attitude to the limelight nearly cost him the role that made him a movie sensation.

In 1995, the Titanic put Cameron at great risk as he tried to find his destined lover. He pondered Gwyneth Paltrow for Rose DeWitt Bucketer until he met Kate Winslet. The director described Winslet as “fantastic.”

Meanwhile, DiCaprio is one of the actors on Cameron’s list, and he’s at the top of it.

“There was a meeting with Leo. And there was a screen test with Leo,” Cameron said in an interview with GQ.

“The meeting was funny because I am sitting in my conference room, waiting to meet an actor. And I look around, and all the women in the entire office are in the meeting for some reason.”

“There’s a female executive producer, okay, fine, but our accountant? They all wanted to meet Leo. It was hysterical. I looked around, and I went, ‘I think I already know the answer to the question here.’”

DiCaprio Arrogant

Although DiCaprio charmed everyone, Cameron wondered if he and Winslet had the kind of chemistry that drawing nude figures could sell.

DiCaprio went back, believing he would meet his leading lady. However, Cameron wanted him to only read for the part. He who was the Oscar-nominated actor in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, who drew much attention as Romeo in Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet?

According to Cameron, DiCaprio told him, “Oh, I don’t read.” So Cameron shook the booming heartthrob’s hand and stated, “Well, thanks for coming by.”

The director said a surprised DiCaprio responded, “Wait, wait, wait, if I don’t read, I don’t get the part. Just like that?”

Cameron said he told DiCaprio what it was for him and the director after Titanic was completed.

The film was “a giant movie that is going to take two years of my life. And you’ll be gone doing five other things while I’m doing post-production. So, I’m not going to f— up by making the wrong decision in casting. So, you’re going to read, or you’re not going to get the part,” he said.

Then, DiCaprio had no choice but to drag his bangs to the screen test.

According to Cameron, “every ounce of his entire being is entirely negative right up until I said, ‘Action.’ And he turned into Jack. And Kate just lit up. And they went into this whole thing, and he played the scene. Dark clouds had opened up, a ray of sun came down and lit up Jack. I’m like, ‘All right, he’s the guy.’”

From then on, history unfolded. And as Celine Dion sings it, it “will go on and on and on.”

Harry Styles Fully Committed to Giving Harryween Spirit

Have you joined the Halloween spirit? Because Harry Styles did it.

The My Policeman actor swapped his uniform for a sweet leather jacket, black jeans and a sleek haircut. Styles played Grease’s Danny Zuko. Of course, this isn’t the first time the actor dressed up. It is part of his annual “Harryween” concert celebration.

Styles’ look was a tribute to Danny’s latest outfit in the 1978 film musical, but with a Harry twist. The singer’s leather jacket and jeans are designed with ‘Harryween’ in bright red gemstones on the back.

The award-winning entertainer didn’t just dress up as a fan-favorite greaser on Monday night. He also stars in a fantastic rendition of Olivia Newton-John’s “Hopelessly Devoted to You” from the movie to the sold-out Kia forums.

Photos of Newton-John – who died in August – were shown on a large screen above.

The styles cater to Danny’s character throughout the evening by referencing some lines from Grease in his performance. References of him included ruffling his hair in “Satelite,” flipping a finger gun in the middle of “Daydream,” and playing the Hand Jive in “Adore You.”

Harryween Isn’t Only for Harry

However, he wasn’t alone in dressing up for the spooky season. The singer’s band entered the fun with their Grease-inspired looks.

Sarah Jones – the drummer – wore Sandy’s signature black spandex outfit. Meanwhile, Elin Sanberg – the bassist – portrayed Rizzo and Ny Oh – the instrumentalist played Frenchie. Mitch Rowland – the guitarist – played Coach Calhoun, while Yaffra – the keyboardist – portrayed Eugene Felsnic. And Pauli Lovejoy – the percussionist – donned a Pink Lady outfit.

Styles created the tradition of Harryween. Last year, he played on two Halloween-inspired shows at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

During the first night, Styles and the whole band rocked the stage as characters from The Wizard of Oz. Styles dressed as Dorothy and sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

The second night saw Styles wearing a Pierrot clown outfit – which Gucci designed. Furthermore, he played a cracker rendition of Britney Spears’ “Toxic.”

Harryween has, therefore, become a signature event for Styles and his band.

Harry’s History

Styles gained traction after he competed for The X Factor. Later, he exited the show with a boy band named One Direction. 1D was composed of Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne.

The band became one of the world’s most famous boy groups, selling smash hit after smash-hit. However, they announced an indefinite break in 2016, not long after Malik left the band.

In 2017, the singer dropped his self-titled solo album via Columbia Records. The album debuted at the top spot in the UK and the US. Meanwhile, his second album, Fine Line (2019), debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200.

Fine Line brought in the largest first-week sales by an English male artist title for Styles. In addition, the album made it to Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” in 2020.

Styles earned several awards in his 6-year-long solo career. It includes two Brit Awards, a Grammy Award, an Ivor Novello Award, and an American Music Award.

Furthermore, he has appeared in movies like 2017’s Dunkirk and 2022’s Don’t Worry, Darling and My Policeman.

FTX ‘King of Crypto’ Sam Bankman-Fried Falls

In merely eight days, Sam Bankman-Fried went from the “King of Crypto” to his firm filing for bankruptcy and resigning from the chief executive position.

Furthermore, he may possibly undergo federal investigations into how he managed the firm’s finances.

During the past few years, extended interviews of him surged the internet. In the interviews, he spoke over video chat from his office desk in the Bahamas. A few of them contained a disturbing clicking sound.

As the press listens carefully to his fantastic tale of how he turned into a multimillionaire in only five years, the noise keeps repeating and is audibly coming from the entrepreneur’s mouse.

“Click, click, click,” it goes repeating outbursts while Bankman-Fried’s eyes stare at the screen.

His videos don’t show what he’s doing on his computer. However, his tweets give hints.

“I’m (in) famous for playing League of Legends while on phone calls,” he said on Twitter in February 2021.

Bankman-Fried is the previous boss of the challenged cryptocurrency exchange FTX. Furthermore, he is a gaming enthusiast. In many tweets to his almost one million followers, he elaborated why.

Gaming was his way of switching his mind off from managing two firms trading billions of dollars per day.

“Some people drink too much, some gamble. I play a League,” he stated.

The Collapse

After news of his cryptocurrency empire collapsing this week, another story about his playing the team fantasy battle has reappeared online.

Per a blog post from venture capital firm Sequoia Capital, Bankman-Fried played a fierce League of Legends battle in a video call with their investment team.

However, it didn’t appear to be an issue at all. The group invested $210 million in Bankman-Fried’s firm FTX.

After the news broke, Sequoia Capital erased that blog post and said it is currently writing off its investment as a loss.

But the firm doesn’t stand alone in this dilemma of heart-stopping investment loss since Bankman-Fried’s $32-billion empire fell down. FTX possessed approximately 1.2 million registered users who used the exchange to purchase cryptocurrency tokens like Bitcoin and more.

Several FTX investors, from massive traders to daily crypto enthusiasts, wonder whether they’ll ever recover their savings from the exchange’s digital wallets.

A Start of Bankman-Fried Journey

It’s a heart-stopping collapse. And the journey of Bankman-Fried to the top is also its own story of twists – risks, rewards, and beanbags.

The multibillionaire attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he studied math and physics. The school is a distinguished US research university.

However, the young, intelligent undergraduate states that the lessons acquired in the student forms contributed to his path to riches.

Bankman-Fried said in an interview with BBC radio last month that he recounted being dragged into the “effective altruism” movement. Effective Altruism is a group of individuals “trying to figure out what practical things you can do with your life to have as much positive impact as you can on the world,” he added.

Therefore, he decided to dig into banking to make money and give it back in greater initiatives.

Furthermore, he learned to trade stocks on temporary work at the trading company Jane Street in New York. After a while, he got bored and went on to experiment with Bitcoin.

That’s where everything started.

Cardi B on the Death of Takeoff: ‘I am heartbroken’

Cardi B celebrates late artist Takeoff’s “amazing talent.”

The rapper posted on social media mourning the musician after the funeral on November 11. Cardi is married to Takeoff’s cousin, Offset.

An unidentified assailant shot Takeoff dead at a private party in Houston on November 1.

“Takeoff, your untimely passing has brought a great deal of pain and sorrow to so many lives,” Cardi B said.

“The impact you had in this world was so considerable. And we have struggled to grasp this tragedy. I am heartbroken, but I am grateful for all the precious memories we got to share while you were here with us.”

Born Kirsnik Khari Ball, Takeoff was one of the members of the rap group Migos along with Offset and his uncle Quavo. The rapper gained prominence through a string of hits like “Bad and Boujee,” “Open It Up,” and “Walk It Talk It.”

In addition, Cardi worked with the group on “Motorsport” in 2018 and “Type S —” in 2021.

“This has truly been a nightmare, and the pain is incomparable,” she added.

“The emptiness your brothers are feeling is unbearable, and I pray that you give Offset, Quavo, and your friends and family the strength to keep going as they are trying to cope with this loss. I believe that angels send signs and beautiful dreams to loved ones to assure them that they’re watching them and they’re okay and happy. Send your mom some of those.”

Takeoff to Rest

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper went on to say that Takeoff’s death was heartbreaking, even for those who had great respect and appreciation for his work.

“I will remember your remarkable talent and your dope-ass personality. And I pray that you are at peace and in paradise because you deserve every bit of it,” she wrote. “I know God opened the heavenly gates for you with a warm embrace. Rest in power, Takeoff. I will also love you 4L & after.”

Just last month, Takeoff dropped an album with Quavo called Only Built for Infinity Links. And now, Quavo mourns for him. He posted on social media to honor his nephew’s life and legacy.

“It’s so hard to tell you Ima miss you because you always with me, and we did everything together,” said the musician in a lengthy Instagram post.

“Since we were kids, you been by my side lookin up at me, them eyes waiting on me to make the next move… Then you followed up right behind me. You always made sure I did it first so you can do it right with me. You never competed with me. We were always on the same team.”

Moreover, Quavo appreciated Takeoff’s passion for music and his roots, referring to him as an “angel” who “made our dreams come true” in his lifetime.

During the funeral on Friday in Atlanta, Justin Bieber and Drake performed in honor of the deceased. They were emotional on stage.

Migos and Bieber collaborated in 2014 on “Looking for You” and in 2021 on “What You See.”

Meanwhile, back in 2018, Drake toured with Migos and has been their collaborator for a long time. They have dropped several songs and remixes together, such as “Having Our Way” and “Walk It Talk It.”

Sylvester Stallone Shares Details on Arnold Schwarzenegger Clash

Arnold Schwarzenegger nearly knocked Sylvester Stallone out of his mind affecting the latter’s meteoric career in the 1990s, the 76-year-old actor has claimed.

The action star explained his years of clashes with Schwarzenegger in the industry. It began when Stallone claimed that Schwarzenegger lured him into a role with Estelle Getty in the widely criticized 1992 comedy Stop! Or My Mother Will Shoot.

“We couldn’t stand to be in the same galaxy together for a while,” Stallone stated. He recently appeared on Friday in the UK’s long standing ITV talk series The Jonathan Ross Show. “We truly, truly loathed each other.”

He added: “He’s quite clever. He goes around town saying, ‘I can’t wait to do this film.’ I got to my agent, ‘Get that thing away from him. Get people options on me.’ I got it, and I said, ‘What a piece of s— this is.’ He goes, ‘Ha ha ha!’ At least I wasn’t pregnant in a film, Arnold. We’re even.”

During another interview on Fox & Friends, the star addressed the situation.

“Schwarzenegger tricked me to do that piece of junk,” Stallone stated of the film. “That’s one of those things that you go, ‘Why am I in this?’ There’s a scene they say, ‘Would you mind wearing diapers?’ I’m going to kill Arnold. I am going to find him and track him.”

Stallone in particular played the role of a police sergeant whose pompous mother (Getty) interferes with his professional life.

Everything Worked Out in the End

He also called his Hollywood rival a “prankster” who made him think he “desperately” wanted to get involved with Stop!

“And I go, ‘Well, I’m not going to let that happen,’” Stallone stated. “So, I snatch it. I said, ‘I want this film desperately.’ And once I got it, I realized, ‘I’m in such a turkey, and it’s not even Thanksgiving – it’s not even Thanksgiving, folks.’”

Although the film received harsh reviews from critics, it ultimately worked well for Stallone and Schwarzenegger. Stallone received his third Oscar nomination 24 years later for his contribution to Creed, a 2015 drama.

Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger won a cabinet seat in 2003, becoming California’s 38th governor.

Stallone Action Star Career

The action star earned his first critical acclaim in The Lords of Flatbush as Stanley Rosiello. Afterward, he worked as an extra or side character in movies with a considerable budget until his limelight debut.

In 1976, he started to gain traction as an actor and screenwriter with the character Rocky Balboa in the first installment of the highly acclaimed Rocky franchise. Additionally, he wrote the screenplay for the film series.

A year later, Stallone became the third actor to earn a nomination for two Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor. Furthermore, the National Film Registry inducted Rocky into its roster. The industry put the film’s props in the Smithsonian Museum.

His face is very familiar to action movie enthusiasts as he starred in the Rambo film series. The first film, First Blood, earned him critical and commercial success.

In the film, he played the soldier John Rambo, who faced challenges with PTSD after the war.

From the beginning of his career until now, Stallone has proved to be one of the most esteemed action stars.

Taylor Swift Says Midnights Bejeweled Has “A Psychotic Amount” of Easter Eggs

Taylor Swift made a guest appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon just days after the release of her latest album, Midnights.

In the interview, she talked about her songwriting process, her honorary degree from New York University, and her latest music video for “Bejeweled.”

The song’s MV contains a “psychotic amount” of Easter eggs she jotted down in a PDF. Furthermore, Swift revealed her Midnights tour.

“I think I should do it. When it’s time, we’ll do it. I miss it,” she said.

Midnights is the pop superstar’s tenth studio album, following 2020’s Evermore. Longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff produced the album. The collaborator also played on some tracks.

The recordings include the song “Anti-Hero.” In addition, the track “Snow on the Beach” features guest vocals from Lana Del Ray and lyrics from Zoe Kravitz and Swift’s lover Joe Alwyn. (Alwyn uses the pseudonym William Bowery.)

Following Midnights’ release on October 21st, Swift has unveiled an expanded version of the album, the “3 AM Edition.” It includes seven more songs. Swift and her team wrote these tracks during the Midnights conception. It includes works from the National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner and Justin Vernon, Bon Iver’s songwriter.

Since 2020’s Evermore, Swift has been busy re-recording her first six albums. These were the albums sold to the music exec Scooter Braun in 2019. Currently, she’s dropped 2008’s Fearless and 2012’s Red re-recorded versions. Her re-recorded albums are called Taylor’s Version.

Swift and Easter Eggs

Ahead of the album’s release, fans were looking for Easter eggs in everything she released. Everything including all teasers and info releases.

On September 21, the icon talked about her Easter eggs in a video series on TikTok called Midnights Mayhem With Me

She referred to the album as “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.”

Furthermore, she noted: “This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night—a journey through terrors and sweet dreams.

“The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching. Hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve, we’ll meet ourselves.”

Previously, Swift delivered an independent bonus edition of an album. Now, with the new album, she’s given to Target to sell the Lavender Edition.

And according to Target’s page, the new edition contains three bonus songs, with two as mixes. However, the tracks will not be available on other album editions.

Meanwhile, several songs on the album have made headlines. It includes “You’re on Your Own, Kid.”

Fans observed that the fifth song in every Swift album is the most devastating of all. And Midnights is no different.

“You’re on Your Own, Kid” is an essential track as it marks the first time the pop star talked about her body dysmorphia and eating disorder in her music. It is pretty vulnerable too.

Jeffrey Carter Builds an Inclusive Environment for the LGBT+ by Launching 4LGBT.Org

While society’s view and acceptance of members of the LGBT+ community has come a long way, it still has miles to go. Other than their right to the basics and fundamentals, LGBT+ members are denied spaces for self-expression and places that provide a sense of community. In addition, discrimination causes a vast majority of the LGBT+ community to be underrepresented—if they are even represented at all. Able to see the importance of this representation and the large gap between avenues given to those that fit into the gender binary and those who do not, members of the community like Jeffrey Carter go the extra mile to ensure they have an inclusive environment amid all the exclusivities.

Jeffrey started off his career in content creation by covering songs – which, honestly, in the era of YouTube, was what pretty much everyone else was doing – but he’s rebranded to creating relatable and funny content for the LGBT+. “I started out creating content at a very young age. I have followed social media trends and how social media has changed over the years, ever since I was sixteen,” he shared. His humble beginnings started at the now-discontinued app Vine, which garnered him a following of 300,000 and gave him the opportunity to work with major record labels. Continuing his content creation journey, Jeffrey was also an early TikToker creating loads of viral sounds that generated about 90,000 in content. In fact, he was so early that the app had not even been called TikTok yet. Today, he makes a variety of videos about LGBT+ related content and using witchcraft to make people miss you on his Instagram profile (@jeffreycarterx) which generates over 20 million monthly profile views.

With at least a decade’s worth of experience under his belt, Jeffrey’s knowledge of the social media landscape is vast and substantial, which is why he has identified the need to form and has started to build what aims to be a safe space for the LGBT+ community and a platform for them to connect, create, and be themselves – all manifested through the upcoming launch of 4LGBT.Org.

More than just serving as another platform that helps provide information and support to LGBT+ members, Jeffrey’s goal is to build a community of inclusivity for people like him. “I want people who have had similar life experiences as me, of being part of the LGBT community, to have a safe space where we can be ourselves and showcase humorous, relatable content,” he said. Since social media has allowed him to create freely and express his most genuine self, Jeffrey hopes to make 4LGBT.Org into a space dedicated to offering this same solace to members.

In addition to making sure that 10% of all profits on the website go to the Los Angeles LGBT Center and The Trevor Project, Jeffrey says the main mission of 4LGBT is to raise awareness by connecting community members through spreading positivity and empowerment. “By donating our proceeds, we make sure we’re able to give back to our community – especially those in need. But aside from the financial aspect of aid, 4LGBT brings help to our community by providing useful resources: where to ask for help; where to get support; and, more importantly, a sense of belongingness. A community,” he said. After all, discovering one’s sexual orientation and/or identity is never easy, but Jeffrey promises that 4LGBT is there to help.

Harry Potter Star Daniel Radcliffe Speaks Out Against J.K. Rowling’s Homophobic Remarks

The Chosen One is sharing details on his choice to voice his opinion against Harry Potter writer J.K. Rowling’s remarks. Notably, the author made controversial comments about transgender people.

As many may know, Daniel Radcliffe portrayed Harry Potter in the film adaptation of Rowling’s fan-favorite book series.

In an interview with The Trevor Project in June 2020, Radcliffe expressed his opposition to the author’s statements on trans issues. However, Rowling has constantly shared her opinion on social media and in published pieces recently.

Radcliffe told IndieWire that he issued the statement as he felt he must say something to Harry Potter fans particularly.

“Transgender women are women,” he wrote.

“Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo [Rowling] or I.”

Radcliffe added to his statement: “Particularly since finishing Potter, I’ve met so many queer and trans kids and young people who had a huge amount of identification with Potter on that. And so, seeing them hurt on that day, I was like.

“I wanted them to know that not everybody in the franchise felt that way. And that was really important.”

Harry Always Saves the Day

The actor continued that he wouldn’t be comfortable unless he said anything about the matter.

“It was really important as I’ve worked with the Trevor Project for more than ten years. And so I don’t think I would’ve been able to look myself in the mirror had I not said anything,” he said. “But it’s not mine to guess what’s going on in someone else’s head.”

Radcliffe initially entered the Trevor Project’s Circle of Hope in 2009. The program is a community of huge donors who play a vital role in the organization’s financial figurehead.

The Trevor Project is a national leader offering crisis mediation and suicide prevention services to the LGBTQ community.

The actor’s statements come after another Potter star came to Rowling’s defense, telling The New York Times that “the verbal abuse” on the author was “disgusting” and “appalling.”

Ralph Fiennes, who portrays Voldemort, said: “I mean, I can understand a viewpoint that might be angry at what she says about women.

“But it’s not some obscene, uber-right-wing fascist. It’s just a woman saying, ‘I’m a woman. And I feel I’m a woman, and I want to be able to say I’m a woman.’ And I understand where she’s coming from. Even though I’m not a woman.”

Harry Potter Facts

Harry Potter spans seven books and eight films. Warner Bros. produced and distributed the film series.

Here are the film titles:

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001)

Half-Blood Prince (2009)

Matthew Perry Bowed Out of ‘Don’t Look Up,’ ‘Friends’ Saved Him

Matthew Perry gave us a peek into his exit from Adam McKay’s political film Don’t Look Up, starring big celebrities.

As it happens, Perry was initially cast to play a Republican journalist in the movie. The film starred Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio as two astronomers. It follows the pair’s media tour to send caution to people about a comet approaching Earth that may wipe out all of existence on the planet.

In his upcoming memoir, the Friends alum recalls, then again, another shocking event. His heart stopped beating for five minutes during rehab for alcohol and drug abuse. Ultimately, it led to his departure from the film.

At one point in the rehab treatment center in Switzerland, Perry pretended to have severe stomach pain to acquire medication from his doctors. In Friends, Lover, and the Big Terrible Thing, he recounts that it was an urge as he couldn’t restrain his addiction yet.

“In fact, I was OK,” Perry wrote, according to Rolling Stone. “It still felt like I was constantly doing a sit-up. So, it was very uncomfortable, but it wasn’t pain.”

Friends Saved Him

His doctors gave him hydrocodone. And before surgery for the pain, prescribed propofol – which is utilized as an anesthetic.

“I was given the shot at 11:00 am,” Perry recalled.

“I woke up eleven hours later in a different hospital. Apparently, the propofol had stopped my heart for five minutes. It wasn’t a heart attack. And I didn’t flatline. But nothing had been beating.

“I was told that some beefy Swiss guy really didn’t want the guy from Friends dying on his table and did CPR on me for the full five minutes, beating and pounding my chest.”

He added: “If I hadn’t been on Friends, would he have stopped at three minutes?”

“Did Friends save my life again? He may have saved my life, but he also broke eight of my ribs.”

Didn’t Make the Cut

Furthermore, Perry shared he was set to act in three scenes with Meryl Streep. However, with the procedure’s pain, he made the “heartbreaking” choice to depart from the film. He called it “the biggest movie I’d gotten ever.”

He did make a group scene with Jonah Hill and the others. But, unfortunately, it didn’t make the cut.

“I was on 1,800 milligrams of hydrocodone then as well. But nobody noticed,” he wrote of his time on set.

The movie didn’t quite work out for him. But he did learn a critical lesson.

“I was hirable in something big without putting on a show,” an excerpt read. “In that meeting, Adam and I had just been two men talking. I will treasure that moment, that day, that man. What a good guy. And I sincerely hope our paths cross again.”

In addition to those events, the actor plunges deep into his alcohol and opioid abuse in the memoir. It also mentions behind-the-scenes tales about his experience on Friends

Perry added that co-actors Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc, all backed him up during his addiction.

“It’s like penguins. Penguins, in nature, when one is sick, or when one is very injured, the other penguins surround it and prop it up,” Perry shared with PEOPLE. “The walk around it until that penguin can walk on its own. That’s kind of what the cast did for me.”

Belle and Sebastian Will Go on Tour

Belle and Sebastian announced their tour dates for a North American leg in 2023.

After wrapping up several dates on their European leg this winter, the indie band will launch the new dates in Mexico on April 24.

Furthermore, tour takes the band on the road through May 19 in Missouri. Check out the full list of Belle and Sebastian tour dates below.

Meanwhile, Belle and Sebastian’s first studio album in seven years, A Bit of Previous, was released in May.

Later, the band finally dropped the non-album single “A Bit of Previous”. And they came to NPR’s Tiny Desk to perform “Unnecessary Drama,” “Working Boy in New York City,” “Reclaim the Night,” and “Judy and the Dream of Horses.”

The Start

Belle and Sebastian, an indie pop group, was formed in Scotland, more precisely in Glasgow, in 1996. The group is made up of seven members: Stuart Murdoch, Stevie Jackson, Sarah Martin, Chris Geddes, Richard Colburn, Bobby Kildea and Dave McGowan.

Oftentimes, they are compared with acts like The Smiths and Nick Drake.

In fact, the group’s name comes from a children’s book by Cécile Aubry published in 1965. It was later adapted for television.

But Belle and Sebastian achieved limited commercial success.

In 1998, the group dropped their third LP, The Boy with the Arab Strap. It secured the top 12 spot in the UK charts. The LP earned them an NPR interview and good reviews from Rolling Stone and the Village Voice.

However, there are no further milestones.
