Before Fame

Stone attended Xavier College Preparatory – a girls-only Catholic high school – as a freshman, but dropped out after a semester to become an actress. She prepared a PowerPoint presentation for her parents titled “Project Hollywood” (featuring Madonna’s 2003 song “Hollywood”) to persuade them to move her to California to pursue an acting career.


She was # 1 on Saturday Night Magazine’s Top 20 Rising Stars Under 30. Stone won a Young Hollywood Award in 2008 for Exciting New Face in Superbad and was nominated by the Detroit Film Critics Society for Best Ensemble in Zombieland in 2009.

Emily Jean Stone was born on November 6, 1988, in Scottsdale, Arizona, to Krista Jean Stone (née Yeager), a housewife, and Jeffrey Charles Stone, founder and CEO of a general company. Stone lived on the Camelback Inn complex for 12 to 15 years.
