Professional wrestling isn’t just a sport—it’s a lifestyle. Few know this better than Vinny “POWERPUNCH” Pacifico, a wrestler who has built his career on perseverance, passion, and betting on himself at a young age. While many see the glitz and glamor of wrestling, Vinny wants people to know the truth—his journey is a testament to hard work, daily challenges, and the relentless pursuit of a dream.
At just 14 years old, Vinny made a decision that would change the course of his life forever. “I was a high school football player, but deep down, I knew my dream was professional wrestling,” he reflects. “Meeting my idol, Bryan Danielson, and hearing his advice gave me the push I needed to take that first step.” That leap of faith—full of uncertainty and fear—was the moment Vinny bet on himself, a decision that he believes anyone can make, no matter the dream.
Vinny’s career path is unique, but that’s precisely his point—there is no one-size-fits-all journey to success. “Everyone has their own challenges and experiences, and that’s what makes life special,” he says. “There isn’t a blueprint for this industry, or any industry for that matter. Some people take the fast track, while others, like myself, grind every day, putting in the work to get better.”
Vinny’s journey has taken him to some of the biggest wrestling stages in the world—Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and All Elite Wrestling, to name a few. Along the way, he’s faced challenges that tested his resilience. “It’s not just about what happens in the ring; it’s about the day-to-day grind,” Vinny explains. “Training, promoting yourself, staying fit, managing your mental health—it’s a constant process, just like what everyday people face in their own careers and lives.”
One thing that sets Vinny apart is his dedication to constantly evolving. Whether it’s learning from the wrestling greats or pushing his limits in new directions, like his recent lead role in a wrestling-themed horror movie, he is always looking for ways to improve. “I approach every day with the mindset that I can get better,” he says. “Whether it’s in the gym, in my character work, or in life, I’m always looking for growth.”
Over the years, Vinny has seen the world of professional wrestling undergo tremendous changes. “The industry has evolved so much, with more opportunities for wrestlers to showcase their individuality,” he says. “It’s more diverse than ever, with new styles, characters, and fans coming together. There’s room for everyone to bring something special to the table.”
What Vinny wants people to take away from his story is the idea that success doesn’t come from following a formula—it comes from embracing who you are and taking that first step, no matter how scary it might be. “I didn’t know where my journey would take me, but I took a chance on myself. And that’s something anyone can do. No matter your dream, if you work hard, stay humble, and bet on yourself, you can create your own success story.”
For Vinny “POWERPUNCH” Pacifico, the journey is far from over. He’s just getting started.
