Idina Kim Menzel is an American actress and singer-songwriter.


Idina Kim Menzel  is an American actress and singer-songwriter. Menzel played the role of Elphaba in the Broadway musical Wicked, a performance for which she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 2004. She also voiced Queen Elsa in the 2013 Disney animated film Frozen, in which she sang the Oscar and Grammy award-winning song.  “Let It Go”.

Before Fame

When Menzel was 15, her parents divorced and she began working as a wedding singer and bar mitzvah, a job he continued throughout his time at the University’s Tisch School of the Arts. from New York, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in drama in 1992.


Additionally, Menzel is known for playing Shelby Corcoran in the drama television series Glee from 2010 to 2013 and Nancy Tremaine in the 2007 Disney animated / live film Enchanted.

Family Life

Menzel married actor Taye Diggs on January 11, 2003. On September 2, 2009, she gave birth to their son, Walker Nathaniel Diggs. At the end of 2013, it was reported that Menzel and Diggs had separated after ten years of marriage. Their divorce was made public on December 3, 2014.

Menzel served as Honorary Chairman of the New York Imperial Court’s annual Coronation Ball, Night of A Thousand Gowns, on March 21, 2009. Other Honorary Chairs of the evening’s charity event included Elton John, Patti LuPone, John Cameron Mitchell, Joan Rivers and Robin Strasser.
