Keanu Charles Reeves is a Canadian actor.


Reeves has developed an eclectic movie roster that includes the action movie Speed and sci-fi blockbusters The Matrix and its sequels, as well as more works of art like My Own Private Idaho and The Private Lives of Pippa Lee. Reeves made his directorial debut in 2013 with Man of Tai Chi.

Before Fame

Reeves developed a fondness for hockey, though he eventually turned to the theater, winning television roles and making his big screen debut in the 1985 Canadian feature film One Step Away.


Reeves excelled more in sports than academics, as his educational development was challenged by dyslexia. He was an ice hockey goalkeeper at one of his high schools (De La Salle College “Oaklands”), and was nicknamed “The Wall”.

Family Life

Keanu Charles Reeves was born on September 2, 1964, in Beirut, Lebanon. From Sino-Hawaiian heritage from his geologist father. Reeves’s mother worked in the entertainment industry as an artist and later as a costume designer. After his parents separated, the youngster moved with his mother and sister to New York and then to Toronto.

Reeves will play the character Johnny Silverhand in the Cyberpunk 2077 video game; he completed the motion capture and voice recording for the role. [176] [177] The Matrix 4, the fourth sequel to The Matrix franchise, is currently filming with Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprising their roles.
