Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta known professionally as Lady Gaga, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, and businesswoman.


Grammy-winning pop icon and superstar and actress Lady Gaga’s debut album, ‘The Fame’, featured the hits ‘Just Dance’ and ‘Poker Face’. She also won a Golden Globe for her role in ‘American Horror Story’ and an Oscar nomination for her role as a co-star in “A Star Is Born”.

Before Fame

Gaga learned to play the piano at the age of 4. At age 11, she was accepted into Manhattan’s Juilliard School but instead attended a private Catholic school in the city. She continued to study music and perform, writing her first piano ballad at the age of 13, and gave his first performance at a New York nightclub at the age of 14.


Lady Gaga’s real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta.

Family Life

Both her parents are of Italian descent and she also has more distant French Canadian roots. Her parents are Cynthia Louise (née Bissett), philanthropist and entrepreneur, and Internet entrepreneur Joseph Germanotta, and she has a younger sister named Natali.

Associated With

In 2012, Gaga launched the Born This Way Foundation (BTWF), a non-profit organization dedicated to youth empowerment. Named after her 2011 single and album. Media owner Oprah Winfrey, writer Deepak Chopra and U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius spoke at the foundation’s opening at Harvard University.
