Keith Rupert Murdoch, AC, KCSG is an American media tycoon born in Australia. Through his company News Corp, he owns hundreds of local, national and international publishing houses around the world. 

Before Fame

He worked part-time at the Melbourne Herald and was prepared by his father to take over the family business. Murdoch studied philosophy, politics and economics at Worcester College in Oxford in England, where he kept a bust of Lenin in his rooms and became known as “Red Rupert”.


He own several media outlets including The Sun and The Times in the UK, The Daily Telegraph and The Australian in Australia, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Post in the United States, HarperCollins book publisher and Sky News Australia TV channels and Fox News (via Fox Corporation)

Family Life

On January 11, 2016, Murdoch announced his engagement to former model Jerry Hall in a notice in The Times newspaper. On March 4, 2016, Murdoch, one week away from her 85th birthday, Murdoch and 59-year-old Hall were married at Spencer House in London; this is Murdoch’s fourth marriage.
