The chop I created out of Avril’s voice is my favorite part of the song, and it lends itself so nicely to the aggressive drums on the drop I feel. In fact, even when picking the drums on the drop, I purposefully chose more heavy rock-oriented drum sounds as opposed to EDM drum sounds to give a nod to Illenium’s big stage sound. It all came together in a really interesting way in my studio.”
