He tapped into something I didn’t know existed, and now it just flows.” Chris found a unique connection with Angie, saying, “She and I are on the same musical page. We both feel the same groove. We are both blues and soul.”

Their chemistry extends beyond music, as they married in 2023. Their ability to tell stories through lyrics captivates listeners, making their music relatable and real. A Father’s Heroism: “The Sigsbee Deep” Adventure

By: Tribune Writers

In a world teetering on the brink of environmental collapse, Richard J. Miller’s “The Sigsbee Deep” emerges as a gripping tale of love, ingenuity, and relentless determination.

The year is 2049, and Earth’s climate has wreaked havoc. A monstrous earthquake severs the Pinellas Peninsula from mainland Florida, leaving Mays Jackson, a resourceful junkyard owner, stranded on a drifting island with his children.

Adrift in a Rising Sea: Daring Mission

Mays Jackson watched in despair as the rising tides swallowed Florida whole, leaving him stranded with his children on a dwindling island. But a greater threat lurks beneath the waves: the Krake, monstrous creatures hungering for human flesh. Separated from his wife, Mays refuses to give up hope.

Using his junkyard as a workshop, he hatches a daring plan – a homemade submarine built from scrap metal, their only chance to reunite with their mother across the treacherous Sigsbee Deep.

A Symphony of Danger

The waters surrounding New Pinellas Island are fraught with danger, including monstrous Krakefish with razor-sharp teeth capable of slicing through fiberglass and wood hulls. These formidable sea creatures add to the novel’s thrilling suspense, as Mays must outsmart these beasts to protect his children.

But the Krakefish are only one of many threats. The island itself is slowly drifting towards the Sigsbee Deep, a treacherous abyss three miles below the ocean surface, which promises certain doom if they cannot find a way to alter their course.

Ingenious Survival

Mays Jackson’s ingenuity shines through as he constructs windmill systems for energy and a junkyard submarine to navigate the deadly waters. These inventions are not just flights of fancy but vital lifelines that underscore his resourcefulness and determination. Each creation is a testament to his love and the lengths he will go to ensure his children’s safety.

A Race Against Time

The urgency of their situation is palpable as Mays and his makeshift community scramble to find a way back to the mainland before it’s too late. The novel’s pacing keeps readers on the edge of their seats, with every page turning into a race against time. The stakes are high, and the suspense is relentless, making “The Sigsbee Deep” a truly immersive experience.

A Father’s Courage Rises

Beyond the thrilling adventure, “The Sigsbee Deep” is a story of a father’s unwavering love and heroism.

Mays Jackson is driven by the desire to reunite his children with their mother, showcasing a profound depth of emotion that resonates with readers.  This vessel, cobbled together from the scraps of a lost world, becomes his desperate wager – a rickety emblem of his unyielding will to navigate the treacherous Sigsbee Deep and reunite his fractured family.

Forged in Scrap, Fueled by Love

As the unforgiving sea rises and monstrous creatures lurk beneath the waves, a symphony of despair threatens to drown Mays Jackson. Yet, the man refuses to surrender to the suffocating silence. Fueled by an unbreakable bond with his children and a fierce resolve that burns brighter than the Florida sun, Mays transforms his junkyard into a desperate cathedral of hope.

Here, amidst the rusting hulks and forgotten treasures, he wields a welder’s torch like a holy chalice, breathing life into a makeshift submarine. The journey ahead promises to be a perilous waltz with death, a desperate gamble where the stakes are measured not in gold but in the precious weight of love.
