One of the hardest things people can suffer through are the emotions and grief that build after losing someone you love.  Feelings of emptiness and memories of your loved ones don’t always allow you to look forward in life. Grieving is natural and comes with countless emotional encounters that can affect many individuals in various aspects of their life. It can be heartbreaking, but the good thing is it doesn’t have to last forever. It often feels that the pain will be part of life for a long time, but it doesn’t have to be. Many people suffering from such situations face shock, numbness, pain, anger, guilt and depression. A few even hear and see the person they lost and also face physical illness. There are people who aim to offer assistance and be the companion of such people in their time of need. Professionally, these people are known as death doulas. One prominent example comes from Nicole Thornes, a former police officer, death doula, and author. Nicole has recently published her book, Daddy’s Home, to help readers cope with feelings of emptiness and recover from the grief of loss.

Although Nicole Thornes’s Daddy’s Home is a fiction story, it covers some true aspects and the story of the author’s life. The book provides an inspirational story to the readers and motivates them to bounce back from all the hard times and look forward in life. This book is specially dedicated to the remembrance of the fallen. The heart-wrenching story of losing someone you love has been creatively written by Nicole Thornes in this book. The book revolves around the story of family members and the emotional turmoil that they undergo after losing their loved ones.

Daddy’s Home honors the individuals who have died and inspires their loved ones that remain. The story pays tribute to all the readers who have faced death throughout their lives and suffered from unwanted incidents that tore them apart. The author wants to guide those people and help them welcome a new beginning in their lives.

Born on January 9, 1980, Nicole Thornes is an author, a former police officer, and a death doula. She attended Wor-Wic Community College to earn a degree in Criminal Justice. She started her professional career as a police officer, which was her dream. Unfortunately, a career-ending injury she faced ended her career as a police officer. She became a police officer to help society and become the companion of those in need. When she was forced to medically retire from the police force, she didn’t give up and continued her dream of helping people. Many years later she became a death doula to help facilitate the dying and their families. As a death doula, she serves the various needs of individuals and families. Her services include companionship, legacy projects, coordinating a circle of support, facilitating Advance Care Planning, and helping people recover from grieving.

Her book “Daddy’s Home” reflects the emotions that people experience when they lose someone special. Although the situation of facing a loved one’s death is always hard and tragic, the book conveys positivity and hopes for a new beginning.
