Rob Morton’s Emotional Song, “Just One More Day With You,” Came from a Dark Time in His Life

The music industry today has evolved into an entirely different landscape. With all the digital technology available, more and more independent artists are able to reach and connect with their listeners. This is evident in the case of singer-songwriter Rob Morton. His lyrics-driven songs have found a strong niche following and made an impact on his fans.

Hailing from Connecticut, Rob Morton is currently making waves with his moving music and inspiring story. His fatherhood journey is the key to it all – how he had to change life paths when one of his sons was diagnosed with a serious illness. This would come to serve as the fuel behind his drive to write more songs, to deal with the emotion of it all.

“I’m proud to say that I am a dad of two boys. I started playing music after I became a father. In fact, the news that one of my sons got very sick was really the beginning of my life as a musician and songwriter,” Rob Morton shared in an interview. “It was a dark, dark time and the single most significant event in my life – as a parent and as an artist.”

On a mission to create emotional music that makes a connection, Rob wrote the song, “Just One More Day With You” that is accompanied by a tearjerker of a music video.  It is about love and loss and holding on to what matters the most in life.  “Just One More Day With You,” has been  awarded Best Music Video in national shows such as Garden State Film Festival, Tellys, Global Music Awards, and Utah Music Video Festival. It has also been aired on the radio since its release.

Rob Morton plays live gigs in Connecticut and New York City.  His last album release, he played to a full house at the renowned Fairfield Theater Company, in Fairfield, CT.  He has released two full-length albums: Private Moon and Lucky Back Then

As one of today’s promising artists, Rob Morton has gained a great deal of his fan base on Instagram (@robmortonmusic). It’s there he makes “multi-frame” presentations of songs, where he will play multiple instruments, and sing all the parts, with a wink of humor often added.  Many of these multi-frame covers have 10s of thousands of listens. All in all – between Instagram, Spotify and YouTube – Rob has garnered a whopping one million listens already.

Immensely inspired by life and songwriting, Rob Morton never fails to tug at the heartstrings of his listeners. Another one of his songs “Lucky Back Then” is a moving piece that’s about daily gratitude, and appreciating what you have when you have it.  It begins with the lyrics:

 “I wish I knew I was lucky back then…

In the coming years, Rob Morton hopes to connect with more people through his emotional music.  He is currently working on his third album.  If you’re interested in hearing Rob Morton’s  songs, the best place to start is “Just One More Day WIth You.”  His songs are available on Spotify, YouTube and many other popular platforms.  On Instagram, he is @robmortonmusic.
